Harry and Lorraine Ausprich Endowed Scholarship for the Arts

The Harry and Lorraine Ausprich Endowed Scholarship for the Arts was founded by family and friends to honor Dr. Harry Ausprich who was president of Bloomsburg University from 1985-1993. A lifelong advocate for the arts, Dr. Ausprich was responsible for starting the performing arts series at Bloomsburg University during his tenure as President.

This purpose of this endowed scholarship is to provide a one-time scholarship to students that are majoring in the visual or performing arts including: music, theater, fine arts, dance and pre-architecture at any one of the 14 PASSHE universities.

Amount Awarded:
The amount of the award varies depending upon funds available from the endowment.

Eligibility:

Preference is given to full-time undergraduate juniors or seniors at any PASSHE university majoring in visual or performing arts with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. 

Student Requirements:

  • Students must fill out an application form.
  • Students must write a personal essay explaining why they think they are deserving of this scholarship.
  • Students must submit two letters of reference from professors attesting to the student’s dedication to his/her field of the arts.
Selection Process:
  • All applications should be sent to the PASSHE Foundation at the address below postmarked by April 30, 2010 The address is also included on the application.
  • The Ausprich Scholarship Committee will review all application packets and make its selection(s). The scholarship recipient will be notified in June 2010.
