Dr. & Mrs. Arthur William Phillips Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide recognition and financial assistance to students enrolled or planning to enroll at universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) who have academic promise and have proven need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses |
| Amount Awarded: |

Maximum awards of $1,000 ($500 for fall semester and $500 for spring semester) will be made to selected students with a $1,000 matching award given by the university. |
| Eligibility: |
|
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students who are currently enrolled or are planning to enroll at a PASSHE university. The student's home address of record must be Butler, Clarion, Forest, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, or Venango Counties, Pennsylvania. Students must have achieved positive academic success and have proven financial need, based on university criteria. In the event there are no qualified students from these counties, the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education shall have the right to award the scholarship to any student enrolled at a PASSHE university.

| Selection Procedure: |

Recipients of this scholarship shall be selected by the appropriate scholarship committees of PASSHE universities. The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Foundation Inc. will notify the universities each February to let them know if Phillips scholarship money is available to them. |
| Number of Awards: |
|
Scholarships shall be awarded annually from available earnings, and any income not awarded in a particular year shall be added to awards in subsequent years. The number of available scholarships is limited. The Foundation will notify the universities each February to let them know if Phillips scholarship money is available to them. Names of the scholarship recipients for fall 2010 must be submitted to the PASSHE Foundation by June 30, 2010. |
