Ianiero to Head PASSHE Foundation

Anthony M. Ianiero has been named President and CEO of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Foundation Inc.

The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) Foundation Board of Directors approved Ianiero’s appointment November 14 at its annual meeting. He will replace Nelson Swarts, who will retire December 21, 2007.

Most recently, Ianiero served as the Associate Vice President for Development at the University of Scranton where he managed a staff of 22 that raised $8 million in charitable gifts in FY 2007. In addition, Ianiero participated in the initial phase of a $75 million capital campaign. Prior to that he was the Executive Vice President of Operations and Development at the Bloomsburg Hospital.

Beginning in 1984, Ianiero held various positions at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania including Executive Director of the Bloomsburg University Foundation, Vice President for University Advancement, Assistant Vice President for Advancement and Director of Development. He retired Administrator Emeritus from Bloomsburg University in 2001.

While at Bloomsburg, Ianiero was responsible for the implementation of the university’s first comprehensive capital campaign that raised $15 million. Under his tenure as chief development officer, total university support increased to $50 million.

Ianiero earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Education from The College of New Jersey in Trenton.
